Dong quai (Angelica sinensis), often referred to as "female ginseng," is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb primarily used to support women's reproductive health. It has been utilized for over a thousand years in China, Korea, and Japan to address various health concerns.

While traditional use of dong quai is extensive, scientific research is ongoing - s ome studies suggest potential benefits in improving blood circulation and reducing inflammation.

Most dong quai is grown in China at higher, cooler elevations in partial shade with ample rainfall. The roots are harvested in the fall from 2-3 year old plants, and dried whole, in slices or powdered.
